Hotelul Grand ocupă un loc important în Târgu Mureș, fiind amplasat chiar în centrul orașului, construit în 1973, fără a-i afecta nucleul istoric. Datorită înălțimii clădirii, cele 10 niveluri de cazare, care includ 230 de paturi, oferă perspective interesante către punctele de interes din împrejurimi. Concepția generală a ansamblului a urmărit crearea unor volume care să corespundă funcțiunilor. Terasa generoasă a restaurantului și terasele balcoanelor au fost închise cu tâmplării exterioare în urma lucrărilor de reabilitare efectuate în 2011. În afară de problemele estetice pe care le ridică aceste modificări ale fațadei, la care se adaugă cromatica stridentă, apar și probleme de ventilare a spațiilor interioare. 

Grand Hotel occupies an important place in Targu Mures, being located in the very heart of the city, built in 1973, without altering its historic nucelus. Its height – the ten storeys of the accomodation wing with a total capacity of 230 beds – offers interesting vantage points towards the main attractions in the area. The general concept of the ensemble was to create appropriate volumes for each function. The generous terrace of the restaurant and the balconies have been closed with exterior frames following the 2011 rehabilitation. Apart from the aesthetic problems raised by these façade alterations – to which one might add the improper colors – the closures have also created ventillation problems.
