Complexul comercial Orizont, creat în plastică socialist-modernistă, este unul din cele trei proiectate pentru microraionul 2 și microraioanele limitrofe. Grupând magazinele în complexe comerciale se creea un avantaj, redând parterul blocurilor pentru locuințe la dezvoltările noi. De asemenea, construind complexe comerciale în clădiri independente se favoriza adaptarea unor noi soluții noi de organizare, corespunzând tendințelor de a face toate cumpărăturile sub același acoperiș. Tendința a dus la crearea unui nou concept de unitate comercială, des folosit în acea perioadă: „supermagazinul”. Și aici se impune o reabilitare și un regulament de urbanism care să protejeze acest complex comercial modernist plin de personalitate și care contribuie la identitatea urbană a cartierului.
The modernist complex is one of the three planned for microdistrict 2 and the surrounding microdistricts. Gathering stores together into commercial complexes created an advantage, freeing the ground floor of residential buildings in the new developments for more apartments. Also, such centers located in independent buildings encouraged the adaptation of new organization solutions, given the trend to do all the shopping under the same roof. This trend led to a new concept, frequently used at the time: the ”superstore”. In this case, too, rehabilitation is required, as well as a set of urban regulations to protect this modernist complex, full of character, a real identity badge for the neighborhood.
