Architect: Virgil Nitulescu<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Hotelul Doroban\u021bi, situat \u00een centrul ora\u0219ului, \u00een fosta Pia\u021b\u0103 a Cosmonau\u021bilor, a fost realizat \u00een anul 1973 dup\u0103 proiectul arhitectului Virgil Ni\u021bulescu. A fost unul dintre primele hoteluri de lux postbelice, cu o capacitate de 270 de camere. Expresia plastic\u0103 exterioar\u0103 continu\u0103 acelea\u0219i principii ca realiz\u0103rile similare din anii \u201960-\u201970. \u00cen perioada postsocialist\u0103, unitatea hotelier\u0103 a fost transformat\u0103 \u00een societate pe ac\u021biuni, o modalitate convenabil\u0103 de a prelua subevaluat un bun al statului. Ulterior, \u00een 2004, noii proprietari au semnat parteneriatul cu un lan\u021b hotelier interna\u021bional. Din acel moment, renov\u0103rile au fost adaptate la cerin\u021bele investitorului, iar cl\u0103direa a suferit transform\u0103ri interioare \u0219i exterioare susbstan\u021biale, astfel \u00eenc\u00e2t aspectul actual nu mai corespunde cu concep\u021bia plastic\u0103 ini\u021bial\u0103.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Dorobanti Hotel, situated in downtown Bucharest, in the former Cosmonautilor Square, was built in 1973 after the plans drawn by architect Virgil Nitulescu. It was one of the first post-war luxury hotels, with 270 rooms. The exterior expression follows the same principles as similar buildings in the \u201960s and \u201970s. After 1990, the complex was turned into a public limited company, a convenient way to take over state property at a bargain price. Later, in 2004, the new owners signed a partnership with an international hotel chain. Since then, the renovation works were adapted to the requirements of the investor and the building suffered major alterations, both inside and outside.
