El domin\u0103 cu silueta sa \u00eenalt\u0103 cl\u0103dirile din jur, complet\u00e2nd armonios ansamblul Teatrului Na\u021bional ce domin\u0103 pe orizontal\u0103 Pia\u021ba Universit\u0103\u021bii. \u00centr-un partiu \u00een form\u0103 de elice,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>volumul hotelului, determinat de distribu\u021bia pe vertical\u0103 a suprafe\u021belor deschise \u00een trei concavit\u0103\u021bi generoase, se dilat\u0103 spa\u021bial c\u0103tre sol prin intermediul corpurilor ie\u0219ite \u00een consol\u0103. Creat ini\u021bial \u00eentr-o plastic\u0103 simpl\u0103, cu elemente prefabricate placate cu piatr\u0103 ce rezonau cu volumul teatrului, hotelul a fost reabilitat \u00een 1990-1993, fa\u021badele fiind acoperite cu \u00eenchideri alucobond. C\u00e2teva detalii, reluate \u00een elementele prefabricate dispuse pe zonele de acces, reamintesc \u0219i ast\u0103zi caracterul autohton al construc\u021biei.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>See from Piata Unirii, the Intercontinental Hotel ends the axis of Nicolae Balcescu Boulevard. Its tall silhouette dominates the surroundings, a harmonious addition to the National Theatre ensemble &#8211; the horizontal accent of the University Square. With a propeller-shaped floor plan, the volume of the hotel, defined by the vertical distribution of openings in three generous concavities, is increased near the ground by cantilevers. Created in a simple aesthetics, with precast elements plated in stone, in resonance with the theatre, the hotel was altered by the 1990-1993 rehabilitation, when the fa\u00e7ades were covered with aluminum composite panels.
