Mosaic: Stefan Szony<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Edificiul sus\u021bine, din punct de vedere compozi\u021bional, axa transversal\u0103 a ansamblului Universit\u0103\u021bii de Vest din Timi\u0219oara \u0219i completeaz\u0103 \u0219i particularizeaz\u0103 ansamblul prin compozi\u021bia fa\u021badei principale, caracterizat\u0103 at\u00e2t prin panoul imens din mozaic orientat c\u0103tre spa\u021biul public, c\u00e2t \u0219i prin compozi\u021bia dramatic\u0103 a fa\u021badei posterioare prin casetele prefabricate din beton armat, care concentreaz\u0103 o imagine specific\u0103 arhitecturii socialist-moderniste. Acoperi\u0219ul Aulei Magna, sub forma unei p\u00e2nze cutate din beton armat sus\u021binut\u0103 de o structur\u0103 de rezisten\u021b\u0103 aproape imperceptibil\u0103, pare c\u0103 plute\u0219te deasupra \u00eentregii cl\u0103diri. Este necesar\u0103 includerea sa de urgen\u021b\u0103 pe Lista monumentelor istorice pentru protejarea specificului modernist socialist de viitoare reabilit\u0103ri care n-ar \u021bine cont de aspectul arhitectural ini\u021bial.<\/p>\n<p>The building balances, compositionally speaking, the transversal axis of the West University complex in Timisoara. It also completes and customizes the ensemble by the composition of its main fa\u00e7ade, defined by the large mosaic wall looking onto the public space, as well as by the dramatic composition of precast concrete casettes of the rear fa\u00e7ade, that concentrate a specific image of socialist modernist architecture. The roof of the Aula Magna, a reinforced concrete corrugated membrane on an almost invisible porter structure, seems to float above the building. The building needs to be urgently included on the Historic Monuments List, in order to protect its socialist modernist features from future rehabilitations that may not take into account the original aspect.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Construit\u0103 \u00een 1964-1965.
