A team of specialists from Lvov, in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, was assigned to prepare the plans and coordinate the building of the stations. It was led by architect Igor Nakonechnyi, seconded by a few artists specialized in mosaic art. A whole series of standard bus stations were built, in modernist style with a regional accent. Aside from the standardized structures, a set of exclusive designs were also created.

Today, the structures are under the administration of the Transport Ministry of the Republic of Moldova. A significant number of these valuable stations, not included in the Historic Monuments Registry, were demolished on grounds they were in a severe state of decay – which was the result of lack of funds and maintenance. The new structures replacing them are of very low quality. The Design Institute of the Transport Ministry was dissolved and the design archive with all the plans, as well as the financial archive, were destroyed by those who took over the building – former employees say. The valuable structures of the bus station network still standing should be urgently listed as historic monuments and conserved.

Construite în 1978-1980.
