With the help of experts from Moldgiprostroi Institute, two cable car structures were also built in Chisinau, lining the Butoias Park between Calea Iesilor and Nicolaie Costin streets. The lower station offered fast access to the Prietenia (Friendship) Park, featuring a lake, a beach and an amusement area. The station is now out of use, access is restricted and the cabins have gone. On the right side of the cable going uphill, a residential building has recently appeared on the green area, at about 7 m from the station. The spaces at the base of the station serve as garbage disposal for the residents and the foundations of a food store have been laid next door.

The project received assistance from teams from the S.S.R. of Georgia, who had the experiene of similar buildings already implemented in Tbilisi – a city with the right geography for this type of transportation. The cables and cabins were designed and installed under the coordination of engineer Vakhtang Lejava, and produced at the Tbilisi Aircraft factory. The uphill station in Butoias Park offered access to the residential complex for Alpha Plant workers (it made electronic equipment for the U.S.S.R. and TV sets). Like the lower station, this one, too, in a deplorable state. The cable and cabin arm are all that is left from the functioning days. The local authorities consider that rehabilitation would be too costly and useless.

Construită în 1986. Șef de proiect: Anatolie Gordeev.
